……… we had a Waves competitor in the

UK Ironman 70.3 Triathlon on Exmoor

15 June, 2008

Richard Drysdale writes: “This summer sees me taking part in 3 endurance events; the 100 mile Dartmoor Cyclosportive (done in 7hrs 20m); this 1/2 Ironman, in support of Waves, comprising a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride and a 13.1 mile run (done in 6hrs 48m), and then the Oxfam 30 hour 100 km Trailwalker in July.

Why? Well raising money for Waves is a good enough reason and it is particularly pertinent for me as I was at school with Kerry and have worked for Waves on one of their UK camps. I have also previously run a marathon and done a triathlon for Waves and through my masters in responsible tourism management I recognise the importance of their work in Kenya.

Thanks to his generous sponsors, he raised over £750, which with Gift Aid totalled

£908.46
